To know how to talk to a girl, is to also know what topics you should avoid like popping open beer bottles with your eye socket.

I’m going to go over some of the most common subjects women dread to hear, unless she’s totally obsessed with you and wouldn’t mind to just hear you the sound of your voice.

Here we go.

1. Talking too much about yourself that bears NO relevance or relation to her life.

Don’t talk about your favorite basketball team, their winning history, especially if she’s not even remotely interested in sports. Imagine discussing something that does not affect either person’s life is in anyway, what will you get out of the conversation? Nothing much. You’ll probably forget about it the day after.

So, what personal information should you actually disclose?

Talk only about yourself when it relates to something that coincides with her interest or life. If she tells you how just developed a newfound passion for photography, and assume that you have experience in the field, you may then proceed to expand on photography itself.

When diverting the attention onto yourself, you also want to talk about things that will ramp up your character value. Communicate that you’re a man with exciting things happening in his life; that you are someone with qualities worthy of boasting to her friends and family.

Tip: Talk about things that will evoke an emotional response. What does she like to take pictures of? Why kind of moments does she enjoy capturing?

To keep yourself on the right track, most of your conversation should be based on “getting to know her” better. Silence is golden; let her do the talking.

2. No numbers. The numbers sitting your bank account, the time, mathematics, the number of women you’ve dated, the number of awards you’ve won. Anything involving numbers should be tucked away.

3. Don’t talk about your friends, or anyone she’s not familiar with. This happens way too often on dates. The guy starts talking about a ‘cool’ friend of his — who either did something incredibly macho, magnanimous, or messed up — so he shares the story thinking it’ll amuse her, when the only person who finds it interesting is himself.

Bottom line is, if you talk about a person she never met or barely even knows, keep it short, or you’ll drive her nuts. You’re on a date, hence, you’re suppose to get to know each other, not someone else.
